Many companies will match their employees’ or the employees’ family giving annually. Check with your Human Resources department to see if your employer participates in matching charitable gifts and if so, learn their process for requesting a matching gift.

If you have a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), you can make a distribution to OCDC directly from your DAF! Contact the fund provider to submit a request to make a grant to OCDC. Make sure to let us know of the DAF grant request by contacting Shanda Tryon at shanda.tryon@ocdc.net.

For those with an IRA, when you reach 70 1/2 and older, you are required to take the minimum distribution from that account, even if you do not need the additional income. A great option is to make a charitable IRA rollover gift, transferring money (up to $100,000 per year) from your IRA directly to OCDC without reporting the distribution as taxable income. Since your charitable transfer of IRA funds qualifies as a required minimum distribution, this can lower your income and reduce your taxes.
